Meet Kent

Kent Summerour is a seasoned program coordinator, drill designer, electronic sound designer, clinician and adjudicator for marching programs of all sizes. He is known for his unique approach and creativity in show production and design.  Kent understands the nuances of blending music and visual design to create a cohesive product.  that is achievable for students at all levels. 

Over the years, Kent has worked with a wide range of programs, helping them achieve success by providing unique show designs and engaging productions. His experience and expertise spans across marching bands, winter guards, winter winds, and indoor percussion ensembles. Kent has had multiple BOA Regional winners, BOA Finalists, and Texas State Marching Band Contest participants in in class 4A, 5A, and 6A.  He spends much of the performance season traveling the country as an active clinician and adjudicator.

Kent also developed the Field Dots System; A system designed to help band programs learn drill more efficiently and accurately that is widely used by the top programs in Texas and beyond.

Beyond the marching arts, Kent has been involved in creative projects ranging from choreography to music production. Notably, Kent choreographed “Safety At A Scale” safety video for American Airlines, produced music for the United Dance Company and Theater Arlington, and has storyboarded and choreographed multiple music videos for recording artists.

Kent has also toured the United States and Canada as a touring musician/live performer on keyboard with multiple groups.

 

Kent currently resides in Dallas with his beautiful wife, Pia, and their two lovely daughters Maya and Aurora.
